Brilla (pronounced “bree-yah”) was born from a passion for helping children and families find their voice.“Brilla” means “shine” and we believe that every child deserves to feel seen, heard, and valued as they grow and communicate in their own unique way.

Meet the SLP

Paola Serrano (M.S. CCC-SLP) is a Bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist and the founder of Brilla Speech & Language, LLC. Paola received her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Houston (Go Coogs!) in 2019 and her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Texas Woman’s University (Go Pioneers!) in 2023.

She is accredited by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and licensed by the state of Texas. She also holds a bilingual certification from TWU, allowing her to provide specialized support for Spanish-speaking families. With over 5 years in the field of Speech-Language Pathology, Paola has gained experience in various settings such as schools, home health, pediatric clinics/outpatient settings, and adult rehabilitation settings. Paola has worked with diverse clients ranging from all ages, but primarily focuses on the pediatric population (infant to school-age). She is deeply passionate about embracing neurodiversity, empowering bilingual families, utilizing AAC to aid language development, and using evidence-based interventions.

Outside of her practice, Paola loves spending time with her husband and their dog, Luna. She also loves to travel, try diverse foods, listen to audiobooks, and exercise.
